At Literature Works we don’t need much persuading to spend a day celebrating our love of books, so when World Book Day comes around we are more than happy to join in the fun.

This year, we’re making World Book Day last even longer with a special event on Saturday 6th March. We’ve invited children’s author and illustrator, Tom McLaughlin to Exeter Custom House to give a reading and run a live drawing session as part of our Quay Words programme. This event is run in partnership with exetreme imagination festival in Exeter and we certainly think that Tom’s work will capture your imagination.

Perfect for all the family, Tom will be reading from his chapter-books for 6-9 year old readers and showing us how he comes up with his illustrations. There will be chance for young readers to draw-along with him.

We love Tom’s ‘Accidental’ series, which encourages readers to imagine what’s possible when you dare to think big. What will your young readers imagine they could be?

For the grown-ups watching, Tom will be talking about his career as a writer and what it’s like to be dyslexic writer. There’s something to inspire everyone.
Tune in Saturday 6th March at 11 am, to watch our live-stream, broadcast from Exeter Custom House live to you at home.
