We’ve got lots of fantastic events and workshops still to come in our Spring season.
We’re pleased to announce our 5 week short course will be all about the short story. Join acclaimed short story writer Emma Timpany and try your hand at short form writing on Saturday mornings from 8th May-5th June. During five informative and inspiring sessions, we’ll look at the essential elements all short stories share and explore creative writing techniques. Emma will also offer feedback on your writing. Book here.
We still have places on our travel writing masterclass with Philip Marsden on 24th April– this event is now confirmed as taking place online via Zoom. You can book your place here.
There’s still time to submit your application to join April writer-in-residence Monique Roffey on her four day Hothouse flowers workshop: a focused four days preparing your work for publication. The deadline is 31st March.
We do have bursary places and concessions available for all of the above opportunities, you can find out more here.
On top of our workshops there are plenty of great digital events to fill your evenings with. We will be live-streaming with Tolu Agbelusi and emerging Quay Voices writers that she has worked with during her March residency on 31st March. Chris White will be explaining why you Don’t Build Fires on the Back of Big Fish on 14th April. Philip Marsden will be reading from The Summer Isles: A Voyage of the Imagination on 23rd April. Monique Roffey will be reading from the Mermaid of Black Conch on 30th April and presenting her emerging ‘hothouse’ writers at Quay Voices on 3rd May. Elizabeth Jane Burnett will be launching her poetry collection Of Sea on 12th May.
