We’re excited to launch our third anthology of new writing from the Quay Words live literature programme, animating the historic Exeter Custom House as a hub for literature in a UNESCO City of Literature.
Included here are pieces by established writers from Fiona Benson, John Wedgwood Clarke and Anthony Joseph, to Roger Robinson and Alice Albinia. Alongside, are a selection of new pieces created within the programme by some of the talented Quay Voices emerging writers who have taken part.
The Quay Words season themes for 2022-23 – Maritime, Heritage, and Threads – run through this anthology as connecting strands. The new work includes contributions from Young Voices: children and young people who took part in our Trading Places young writers’ flash fiction competition.
This is a collection that inspires and impresses in equal measure. The reader can dip in over and over, each time discovering new gems. All proceeds from sales will be invested into Quay Words: a not-for-profit, diverse and open access programme of literature at the heart of Exeter.
