We’re excited to launch our second anthology of excellent prose and poetry from the Quay Words live literature programme, showcasing creative output from Exeter Custom House as a hub for literature on Exeter’s quayside.  

Contributions from established writers include Tom Cox, Nikesh Shukla, Elizabeth-Jane Burnett and Pascale Petit.  They and others feature alongside work by some of the talented new Quay Voices, new writers who have taken part in the programme with them.

The Quay Words season themes for 2021-22  – Nature, Heritage, and Science – run through the writing as connecting threads. All ages are here, including Young Voices new writing by children and young people. This is a collection to immerse yourself in and read from cover to cover, or to dip into over and again. We hope it will inspire the reader to join us and get writing too. All proceeds from sales will be invested into Quay Words: a not-for-profit, diverse and open access programme of literature at the heart of Exeter.
