Quay Words and Efemia Chela present a free two hour creative writing workshop for writers. The goal of the workshop is to help you build confidence as a writer and strengthen your ability to adapt to different creative premises. During the workshop you will be freewriting, playing around with genre and using existing African stories to create new work. Efemia will help you unleash your creativity using prompts, writing exercises and discussions of craft. The workshop is suited for all adult writers (18+), unpublished or not.

About Efemia Chela
Efemia Chela is a Zambian-Ghanaian writer and editor. In 2014 her debut story, ‘Chicken’, was shortlisted for the Caine Prize for African Writing. In 2018 she was the Andrew Mellon Writer-in-Residence at Rhodes University. Her writing has appeared in places like the Johannesburg Review of Books, Pen Passages: Africa, Wasafiri and New Internationalist amongst others. She currently lives in Johannesburg, South Africa.
