We are offering four promising new writers of fiction one-to-one writers’ surgeries with novelist Katri Skala during the week of 20th – 26th July 2020.

Katri will offer one-to-one feedback which will help you hone your craft, discuss your work-in-progress and consider possible next steps for your writing journey.

To apply for one of these sessions, please submit up to 2,000 words of your current work-in-progress alongside a 200 word statement (preferably in Word document or PDF format) outlining what you are working on and what you hope to gain from a one-to-one surgery session to customhouse@literatureworks.org.uk by no later than 5pm on Friday 26th June 2020.

Four selected writers of fiction will be invited to submit a final writing sample of up to 4,000 words for Katri to review ahead of the one-to-one. You will then have the opportunity to book a slot during the week of 20th – 26th July 2020 at a time convenient to both parties.

Katri Skala is a writer and a mentor to writers.  Previously a senior arts administrator and editor in the UK and US, she has also worked for the Arvon Foundation, the National Centre for Writing and the University of East Anglia. Her novel ‘A Perfect Mother’ was published by Hikari Press in 2018.

Her approach to mentoring is based on her training as a coach for writers.  She works with emerging writers of fiction at the National Centre for Writing and on a private basis.
