Join us as we present an evening with Quay Words Summer digital writer-in-residence, Tjawangwa Dema.
TJ will share her work with us, reading from her collection, the Sillerman First Book Prize for African Poets winning, The Careless Seamstress as well as sharing some of her spoken word poetry. The evening will close with an in conversation, moderated by Literature Works CEO Helen Chaloner during which TJ will discuss her work and reflect on her Quay Words residency. There will also be an opportunity for questions from the audience.

Tjawangwa Dema has worked as a spoken word poet for fifteen years. Her first full-length poetry collection, The Careless Seamstress, was published in March 2019 and won the Sillerman First Book Prize for African Poetry, receiving praise from US Poet Laureate Tracy K Smith.
