Saturday 8 May 11:00 am - Saturday 5 June 1:00 pm
Saturday 8th May – 5th June 2021 on five Saturday mornings, 11am-1pm.
Intriguing, engaging and a little bit mysterious, short stories are windows into other lives and worlds – but what goes into making a great short story? During five informative and inspiring sessions, we’ll look at the essential elements all short stories share and explore creative writing techniques. Emma will also offer written feedback on a piece of your writing.
Writers of all levels are welcome to join us to learn more about this fascinating form. Short stories are a great way into writing for beginners and Emma will be on hand to answer your questions. It’s also a great chance for more experienced writers from other disciplines, such as novelists, poets and non-fiction writers, to branch out into a different area, to achieve recognition, and to reach a new audience of readers.
PLEASE NOTE: This course will be delivered on Zoom. You will be emailed joining instructions and preparatory materials after booking. Course dates are:
8th May
15th May
22nd May
29th May
5th June
We have a limited number of bursary places available for this course. Bursary places are by application only (to customhouse@literatureworks.org.uk). They are awarded on the basis of financial need not writing ability. You can find out more about how to apply, here.
