Saturday 8 June 1800 - 2000

A free film screening in the Transit Shed, Exeter Quayside, Saturday 8th June 6-8pm

We are partnering once again with Speaking Volumes Live Literature Productions on their Your Local Arena strand, offering a free screening of a gem from the BBC Arena archive. To complement Exeter’s Heritage Harbour Festival 2024, we selected Caroline 199: A Pirate’s Tale (1991).

The film will be followed by a panel talk chaired by BBC Radio Devon’s Jo Loosemore, with – amongst others – Rhoda Dakar of the Bodysnatchers, a band signed to the 2 Tone record label. Poet Shazea Quraishi will also perform a specially commissioned poetic response.
