Immersive Place Writing Workshop with Louisa Adjoa Parker 21st July
How can we portray place through our writing or use place and nature to inspire us? How can we link the past and present? Where do our stories fit with others? Quay Words writer-in-residence Louisa Adjoa Parker is running a creative writing session with a focus on place. Come and explore the quayside and Custom House, immerse yourself in the surroundings, and think about place, nature and the histories of the people who have lived and worked at the site over the years. The session will include a walk along the river (weather permitting), followed by a writing workshop inside Custom House. You will have the opportunity to learn a little about the history of the site, share poetry and prose, and write your own work inspired by the surroundings. There may be an option for some of the pieces produced to be published on the blog. Beginners as well as more confident writers are welcome.
Please bring suitable footwear for walking, pens and notepads!
*If you have any specific access needs, please let us know when you book a place.
Tea and coffee will be available.
This workshop is free, but please book a place. Bookings can also be taken on the door, but advance bookings are recommended.
