This year Quay Words will be ushering in National Poetry Day a little early, Wednesday 6th October, with an exciting workshop and open mic cabaret from Bristol City Poet Caleb Parkin. Come and join us for poetry hi-jinks and celebration!
We will be playing with this year’s theme in our ‘Choice, Lack Of’ workshop. Caleb will be using a variety of games and tricks to change your poetic choices and help you create some fresh new, poetry on the theme. The workshop is free, at Exeter Custom House at 3.30-5.30pm. Book here.
This will be followed by an open mic cabaret all on the theme of choice! Join us to listen to Caleb performing poems on theme or to share your own ‘Choice’ poems! The cabaret is also free at Exeter Custom House 6.30- 7.30 pm. Find out more and book here.
On National Poetry Day (7th October) itself, Quay Words and our partners at Libraries Unlimited are excited to be releasing the results of our commissioned piece by Tolu Agbelusi, watch this space and get ready to learn more about Exeter’s remarkable women.
